Basic welding electrodes

The basic welding electrodes can be used in all positions for a good welding result. These electrodes have a fast-solidifying slag. The weld appearance is slightly rougher than with rutile electrodes, the welding electrodes also require a slightly more experienced welder. However, the weld metal is very pure. This results in excellent mechanical properties. Be careful when storing these electrodes; they are very sensitive to moisture and drafts. Good packaging is therefore essential. These welding electrodes are widely used in down welding. It has a relatively fast setting slug and deep burn in all positions. The spouting arc ensures a deep surf in a relatively short time. The welding arc is relatively bright, which also creates a slightly rougher weld appearance. The electrodes are less suitable for use in other welding positions. The electrodes then tend to spatter a lot resulting in a very rough weld appearance.
