How does an Electrode welding machine work?

An Electrode welder is drawn with an electric arc between the material to be welded and the electrode. The arc ensures that enough heat is available to melt the electrode. The electrodes consist of a wire of metal and a covering. The wire conducts the current while the coating protects the material from outside influences.
